Antonio Citterio
A graduate of both the University of Oregon and the prestigious Politecnico di Milano, Antonio Citterio is one of Italy’s most respected figures in contemporary architecture. His diverse portfolio spans hospitality, residential, commercial, and even large-scale urban planning projects. In 1972, he founded Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, an international architecture and interior design firm with over 90 professionals across offices in Milan and New York, and eight active partners worldwide.
Citterio’s design philosophy reflects a unique synthesis of rationalist principles, historical context, and Italian elegance. For him, every architectural or product design must carry something extraordinary behind a façade of balance and simplicity. His work has earned him the prestigious Compasso d’Oro, one of the highest honors in the design world.
The collaboration between Antonio Citterio and B&B Italia, a brand renowned for its exceptional manufacturing expertise, has produced not just functional furniture, but iconic pieces of contemporary design—objects that transcend everyday use to become symbols of future-forward living.
